In my many years of being in the cycling industry, I've learned a couple of things about cycling apparel. Number one, the phrase "you get what you pay for" is very sound advice. Second, there's a lot of you out there are wearing sub par cycling shorts. Face it, the bargain bin Pearl Izumi shorts you found at Performance Bike are not living up to the hype... And your nether regions are feeling the aftermath of your cheapskate decision.
In light of this, I've decide to put together a guide to mate you with the best pair of cycling shorts You've never owned, yet...

I wanted to wait for a bit before blogging about my day at the Old Man Winter rally, so that I would have time to reflect on not only the quality of the event itself, but also what an event like this means for the world of cycling culture here in Boulder...
Very exciting things are happening this weekend. Just today I was invited to take part in the Old Man winter bike rally, which is being put on by the Oskar Blues Brewery in Lyons, CO. Im very excited not only because this is my first formal event of the year, but this also means i'll officially be breaking my year long hiatus from riding in any sort of organized event. I'm really hoping that after participating in this, it'll reignite my passion for cross country mountain bike racing.
Alas, the heavens were good to the front range of Colorado. Just last night it was snowing like something out of a movie, and today I was greeted with perfect blue skies, and 32 degree temperatures. I couldn't have asked for a better day to test how the Echo faired in the terrain it was made for.
After the muddy maiden voyage on my newly built Echo, it was time to get her cleaned up and ready for its next adventure back home in Boulder. (Read about the mudfest here) After a short work week, I was able to sneak out and put another 15 miles on it before the sun set and the temps plummeted.
